Media that MattersMedia That Matters Film Festival
This amazing festival is a premiere showcase for short films on the most important topics of the day. It tackles a broad range of social issues with humor, humanity, and honesty.

Here in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Global Education Centre has had the privilege of coordinating the nationwide MTM screenings for the last two years, in venues like the NZ Film Archive in Wellington and the Academy Cinema in Auckland.

The Yellow-Eyed Penguin's Backyard
New Zealand school students are invited to design a yellow-eyed penguin-friendly habitat restoration plan. The plans (digital or a physical prototype) will be displayed on this site. The YEP's backyard project takes place in term 4, 2009 and is an online science and technology education project. Students are also invited to assist in providing student-friendly yellow-eyed penguin information for their peers for this website.

World March for Peace and Non-violence World March for Peace
The World March will begin in New Zealand on October 2, 2009, the anniversary of Gandhi’s birth, declared the “International Day of Non-Violence” by the United Nations. It will conclude in the Andes Mountains (Punta de Vacas, Aconcagua, Argentina) on January 2, 2010.
